Abstract

The article presents the first results of an interdisciplinary research conducted on a sample of nurses serving at ASL CN-1 and ASO Santa Croce and Carle in Cuneo (Piedmont, Italy) as part of an action-research project called SALINTER. La salute come immaginario sociale e religioso. This work, conducted in collaboration between researchers in philosophy and cultural anthropology, focuses on the representations of health and the rhetorics concerning the care relationship that support the professional self-representation of nurses, and aims to show their intimate correlation. The analysis of the collected data provides a critical understanding of this self-representation, that constitute a solid basis for future research aimed at providing an in-depth description of care work in the health sector.
