Abstract

In what follows I try to show the connections between hate speech and rap music. The main thesis of this article is twofold: on one hand I claim that hate speech is a useful way to better understand rap music. On the other hand, the use of the hate speech made by the rappers of the so called Golden age helps us to show some aspects of the intricate relationship between violence and language. The most prominent of which is the ambivalence of aggressive speech.
