Abstract

From the perspective of my particular aesthetic theory of aspects (or aspectism), I would propose an approach to Wittgenstein's philosophical thought, focusing on a personal anecdote of Wittgenstein's own in which he makes aesthetic assessments of music and architecture. Wittgenstein's words can be interpreted in three different ways: from the relationship between the artistic and the moral within the framework of his notion of culture; from some biographical details of Wittgenstein himself; and from the meaning of his Kultupessimism. Finally, the importance of "courage" (Mut) for him sheds light on the relationship between nature, language, and culture, showing how critique and commitment can coexist with an acknowledgment of a certain inability to see.
